Thomas Maira has joined Akerman in the real estate practice group as a partner in New York, where he will serve as chair of New York real estate private equity, the firm said Monday.
Maira advises real estate private equity funds, borrowers, and lenders in joint ventures and preferred equity investments, acquisitions, development, and lending, according to Akerman.
He has previously served as general counsel of a multinational investment company’s real estate legal group, said the firm.
