Nora Rigby has joined the consumer financial services, data and technology practice group at Akerman as a partner in the Washington office, the law firm said Thursday.
Rigby joins from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Regulations, where she most recently served as chief of staff and senior counsel, Akerman said in a statement.
Rigby, who was with the CFPB for 10 years, focuses on defending financial services providers against individual and class claims brought pursuant to the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the law firm said.
