Afghanistan Crash Suit Settlements Accepted by Federal Court

Settlements in a wrongful death lawsuit, alleging that air traffic control contractor Midwest Air Traffic Control Service Inc. caused a civilian cargo plane to crash in Afghanistan, were accepted by a New York federal district court Wednesday.

The terms of the six proposed settlements, which were reached at mediation in October, will remain confidential, and plaintiffs will be prohibited from disclosing the terms to one another, Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy of the US District Court for the Western District of New York said in an order granting petitions for approval.
