SEC Climate Rules Seen Aligning With Global Reporting Proposals

As the SEC drafts climate disclosure rules, international accounting standard setters and European regulators expect to see more similarities than differences from their own initiatives.

“I’m hopeful that there’s going to be significant alignment between what we are going to be proposing and what comes out from the SEC,” Larry Leva, vice chair of the foundation that oversees the newly formed International Sustainability Standards Board, told a conference of U.S.-based institutional investors Tuesday.
