ESG Reports by World’s Companies Audited Only Half the Time

Most of 1,400 large companies covered by a new study reported in some way on sustainability issues, but many don’t get the information audited, according to a new report.

More than 90% of the largest companies in the world report on climate change risks, greenhouse gas emissions, and details of their workforces, the International Federation of Accountants and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants said Wednesday. But only about half of them have that information audited, or subjected to assurance.
