National security and competition reviews on both sides of the Atlantic are apparently running smoothly. For transatlantic dealmakers, this is good news: These reviews are not serving as a significant obstacle to bilateral deal activity. And robust cross-border mergers and acquisitions deal volumes between United States and United Kingdom parties further bear out this assessment. The NVIDIA mega chip deal, due to its sheer size and its special impact on the sensitive semiconductor industry, would appear to be an outlier in this relationship.
