ANALYSIS: Three Bankruptcy Courts Remain Top Megacase Magnets

The bankruptcy courts for the District of Delaware, the Southern District of Texas, and Southern District of New York maintained their status in 2021 as the three most popular jurisdictions for major bankruptcy cases or “megacases” (involving $100 million or more in assets). Despite calls for bankruptcy venue reform, the dominance of these three courts is unlikely to change in 2022.
