ANALYSIS: SEC’s Jackson Dissents Respectfully—and Frequently

In SEC rulemaking votes, Commissioner Robert Jackson often finds himself in the minority, and he does not cast his negative votes quietly. In his 17 months on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Jackson has issued 14 public dissents to proposed and final rulemaking measures. He also publicly expressed his reservations on four rulemaking proposals, but voted to issue the releases for comment.
