Overall employment in legal occupations fell only slightly in the first quarter of 2025, according to data compiled by Bureau of Labor Statistics. The combined headcount of men and women at work in the legal industry for Q1 decreased slightly to 1.85 million from Q4 2024, when workers filled 1.88 million jobs in law-related fields. The decrease was smaller than the typical quarterly change in legal employment, which has fluctuated between 1.76 million and 1.91 million in recent quarters.
