ANALYSIS: Gensler Expected to Emphasize SEC Regulatory Role

Expect Gary Gensler to lead a Democratic-appointee majority Securities and Exchange Commission in an active rulemaking agenda, in contrast to the deregulatory approach of his predecessor, former Chairman Jay Clayton. The SEC under Gensler is likely to step up its enforcement and inspections programs in its market oversight role.
