ANALYSIS: FLSA Ransomware Complaints Overtake Other Types in Q1

Fair Labor Standards Act complaints emerged as a new type of ransomware complaint in Q1 of 2022, highlighting the expanding risks associated with ransomware attacks.

Ransomware complaints—which have exploded in number in recent years due to a surge in ransomware cyberattacks—have mainly stemmed from data breaches and disputes over emerging intellectual property products meant to fight ransomware.

But the appearance of these FLSA complaints indicates that practitioners should expect greater sophistication regarding ransomware targets, as well as increasing litigation involving ransomware.
