ANALYSIS: Child Online Safety Laws: Emerging Patterns (Correct)

Nearly 20 states since 2022 have enacted certain child online privacy and safety laws, many of which face legal challenges. The state legislation seeks to fill the gaps left by the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, which is outdated and only applies to children under 13.
