American Airlines Agent Fired Over Racist Posts Loses Appeal

American Airlines Inc. prevailed on disability and gender discrimination claims brought by an employee who was terminated after her racist Facebook posts went viral, under a ruling by the Third Circuit on Tuesday.

The district court correctly granted summary judgment to American on all of Colleen Koslosky’s claims, the court said, holding she failed to provide any evidence of pretext.

Koslosky worked as a customer service agent for American at the Philadelphia International Airport, according to the opinion. Her disability accommodation request relating to edema and nerve damage in her leg was denied twice before it was approved in August ...
