Senate GOP Crypto Bill Omits Limits on Big Tech Tokens (Correct)

Senate Republicans have updated their crypto market structure bill to regulate crypto platforms and most digital assets, according to draft text obtained by Bloomberg.

The draft Senate bill includes provisions similar to some in the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633; BGOV Bill Analysis), which the House passed with bipartisan support in July.

But it doesn’t match language from the House bill restricting non-financial companies from obtaining stablecoin issuers, which House lawmakers sought to limit Big Tech’s control of digital currency.
