Harvard, Physics Professor Resolve Lawsuit Over Tenure Denial

A former associate professor of applied physics at Harvard reached a settlement with the university in his breach of contract lawsuit over his tenure denial, just moments before the trial was set to begin.

Judge Christopher Barry-Smith of the Massachusetts Superior Court, Middlesex County, announced the settlement Tuesday. The details of the settlement were not immediately available.

Shmuel Rubinstein claimed Harvard didn’t follow its own policies in reviewing his tenure application.
