York Capital Hires Benjamin Vogt from Serengeti Asset Management

Benjamin Vogt, previously with Serengeti Asset Management, is joining York Capital Management as a managing director, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

• Vogt, who was head of European investments including private credit at Serengeti, will be working in York’s private credit business, European distressed credit and distressed asset funds
  • Vogt’s move comes as several money managers at York are launching their own separate hedge funds
  • A representative for York declined to comment
• Separately, Jonathan Garshofsky, also previously at Serengeti, joined Veritas Capital Fund Management’s credit team in August as a senior associate
