WeWork Creditors Ask to Sue SoftBank Over Bankruptcy Involvement

Bankrupt WeWork Inc.'s unsecured creditors are seeking permission to pursue claims against the coworking giant’s largest equity holder, SoftBank Group Corp.

The unsecured creditors committee asked the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey on Wednesday to grant it leave to bring six claims against SoftBank on behalf of the debtors’ estates while an investigation into SoftBank’s debt transactions with WeWork continues. Unsecured creditors otherwise would be left with no way to recover their claims, the committee said.
