The producer and actors behind the 2012 film “Silver Linings Playbook” lost a federal court appeal over whether Spyglass Media Group LLC is on the hook for allegedly unfulfilled contracts purchased from Harvey Weinstein’s former production company.
The March 20 ruling by Judge Maryellen Noreika of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware upholds a victory for Spyglass in bankruptcy court. Spyglass, an affiliate of Lantern Entertainment LLC, purchased The Weinstein Co.’s assets out of bankruptcy in 2018 for $287 million.
