Watch European Chip Stocks on Report Wolfspeed Seeks Bankruptcy

The European semiconductor sector could be in focus on Wednesday after US firm Wolfspeed plummeted in extended trading following a Wall Street Journal report that the chipmaker is preparing to file for bankruptcy.

  • German-listed Aixtron is a supplier to Wolfspeed, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, and its shares have been affected by news on the US company in the past
  • Also watch STMicro, which is one of Wolfspeed’s largest customers
    • STM accounts for 23% of Wolfspeed’s revenue, the data shows
  • Infineon is also a customer of Wolfspeed (2.7% of revenue)
