Wardman Park Hotel’s Bankruptcy Plan, Deal With Marriott Approved

The bankrupt owner of the century-old Wardman Park Hotel in Washington won court approval of its liquidation plan to distribute the proceeds of a $152 million sale of the property.

The uncontested plan, approved at a hearing Monday, resolves Wardman Hotel Owner LLC’s primary objectives for filing Chapter 11 in January—to sell the shuttered property and resolve disputes with hotel manager Marriott Hotel Services Inc.

Judge John T. Dorsey of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware also approved the debtor’s settlement with Marriott Hotel Services, a unit of Bethesda, Md.-based Marriott International Inc.
