Verity Health Hospital Sale OK’d Despite California’s Appeal

A California county’s purchase of two nonprofit hospitals will go through over the objections of state Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D).

A federal bankruptcy court in late 2018 approved the sale of O’Connor Hospital and Saint Louise Regional Hospital from Verity Health System of California Inc. to Santa Clara County, free of conditions Becerra and his predecessor, Kamala Harris (D), previously imposed on deals involving the facilities.
