Verifone Tells Investors It Has Debt Plan, Will Talk to Lenders

Verifone executives told investors that the payment-device maker has a plan for addressing near-term debt maturities and will approach lenders soon, according to people familiar with the situation.

  • The comments were made Tuesday during a quarterly earnings call, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing a private matter
  • Messages left with Verifone and private equity owner Francisco Partners weren’t immediately returned
  • Verifone’s $2.175 billion first-lien term loan that matures in 14 months has plunged 6 cents this week to 4-year lows of 76.6 cents on the dollar, according to Bloomberg-compiled data
