Venezuela, Geoex Sign Contract to Map Gas Reserves

Venezuela signed a contract with London-based firm Geoex MCG to map the country’s gas reserves, Oil minister and Petróleos de Venezuela head Pedro Tellechea said Friday in a post on X.

  • NOTE: PDVSA had been in talks with Geoex since May to map gas fields and certify their potential in order to offer the data for sale to interested producers
  • Agreement for a multi-client model was signed by Tellechea and Geoex’s executive vice president Jean Philippe Rossi
  • Contract covers:
    • A 2D seismic survey for 51,683 linear kilometers
    • The reprocessing of data for a previous 2D seismic survey of 38,396 linear ...
