Venezuela Bonds Rise as US Envoy Travels for Talks with Maduro

Venezuelan bonds jumped across the curve, with sovereign notes gaining more than half a cent on Friday, following news that US envoy for special missions Richard Grenell has arrived in Caracas for a meeting with President Nicolas Maduro.

  • Notes maturing in 2027 advanced 0.8 cents to trade above 19 cents on the dollar, the highest levels since late July, according to indicative pricing data compiled by Bloomberg
