USA Gymnastics Abuse Claimants Seek Class Status in Bankruptcy

A retired U.S. gymnast is seeking to certify a class alleging that USA Gymnastics failed to notify authorities about suspected child abuse as part of the organization’s bankruptcy proceedings.

Marcia Frederick Blanchette asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana Wednesday to let her amend a class claim filed in USAG’s Chapter 11 case to clarify the damages she and other plaintiffs seek under the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Act.
