US Trustee Seeks Deposition of Ethics Experts in Judge Scandal

Legal ethics experts hired by a law firm at the center of a judicial ethics scandal should be deposed over their advice about a partner’s romantic relationship with a judge, the Justice Department’s bankruptcy monitor said.

Portland attorneys Peter Jarvis and Jacqueline Harvey should be required to comply with subpoenas to testify about their ethical advice to Jackson Walker LLP related to ex-bankruptcy judge David R. Jones, the US Trustee’s office, the Justice Department’s bankruptcy monitor, told US District Court for the District of Oregon on Sept. 3.
