Jackson Walker LLP agreed to provisions in private settlements that will allow the Justice Department’s bankruptcy watchdog to continue pursuing separate legal action related to an undisclosed romance between a former firm partner and a top bankruptcy judge.
The Texas law firm and the US Trustee’s office announced Wednesday afternoon during a court hearing that the new language will permit the settlements with bankruptcy estates to move forward without hampering the government’s push to claw back professional fees.
The order comes a day after Judge Eduardo V. Rodriguez ordered attorneys to try to come to a deal on the language. ...
