US Bankruptcy Tracker: EV Maker Nikola One of Two New Filings

Electric vehicle maker Nikola Corp. was one of two large bankruptcy filings last week, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

• Nikola listed debt of about $98 million in its Chapter 11 petition. The other company that filed for the week ending Feb. 22 was DCA Outdoor Inc., a nursery and landscape products maker
• This year as of Feb. 22, US courts have seen 26 large bankruptcy filings with at least $50 million in debt, compared with 23 during the same period last year and 38 in 2023, according to data compiled by Bloomberg
