US Bankruptcy Tracker: Conn’s, Mobileum Filings Keep Courts Busy

US courts saw four large bankruptcy filings last week while the amount of distressed debt shrank slightly.

  • The weeks large filers — those with at least $50 million of liabilities — included home goods retailer Conn’s Inc. and one of the biggest wine producers in the US
    • Also filing were education technology company 2U Inc. and software company Mobileum Inc.
  • About $197.8 billion of dollar-denominated corporate bonds and loans in the Americas traded at distressed levels as of Friday, down 4.6% from a week earlier, Bloomberg-compiled figures show
