US Bankruptcy Tracker: Chemical Maker Ascend Among New Filings

Specialty chemical producer Ascend Performance Materials Holdings Inc., was among three large bankruptcy filings last week, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

• For the week ending April 26, the other two bankruptcy cases that filed with at least $50 million in debt were: Handlos Family Farms LLC, a hog and pig farming company, and Shoreview Holding LLC, a Bradenton, Florida apartment owner.
• US courts saw 57 large bankruptcy filings this year as of April 24, compared with 56 during the same period last year and 71 in 2023, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
