The resignation of a top Texas bankruptcy judge is unlikely to be the end of the story for him and the premier Houston bankruptcy court he championed.
Bankruptcy Judge David R. Jones is resigning effective Nov. 15. His announcement on Sunday came after the Fifth Circuit issued a formal misconduct complaint against him for failing to disclose a romantic relationship with Elizabeth Freeman, an attorney who previously worked at top Texas bankruptcy firm Jackson Walker LLP. The firm frequently had cases pending before the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas where Jones was a judge.
