TiVo Gets Court OK to Buy MobiTV After Rare Public Auction

TiVo Corp. is set to buy MobiTV Inc. out of bankruptcy for about $18.5 million after winning an auction for the television streaming technology company.

  • U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Laurie Silverstein in a hearing Friday approved the sale to TiVo
  • MobiTV entered bankruptcy with no buyer lined up, but received eight qualified bids for its assets prior to a two-day auction held earlier this month, Jason Rosell of Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones said in the hearing
