Fashion retailer Ted Baker has put its Canadian operations into a form of bankruptcy in Toronto, according to Wednesday
Ted Baker Canada Inc. kicked off insolvency proceedings in Toronto and filed a related Chapter 15 petition in New York bankruptcy court to recognize the Canadian proceedings- The Canadian court filings also name other Ted Baker corporate affiliates
- Chapter 15 is a form of US bankruptcy that shields companies’ assets from creditors while they restructure in a different country
- The move comes after the company behind Ted Baker’s UK shops initiated separate insolvency proceedings
