Tattooed Chef Trustee Targets Ex-Officials in $100 Million Suit

The liquidating trustee of plant-based food company Tattooed Chef sued its former directors and officers for more than $100 million in damages, alleging they caused the company’s bankruptcy by wasting corporate assets and unjustly enriching themselves.

Peter Hurwitz, appointed by a court to oversee a liquidating trust for the benefit of creditors, accused the ex-officers of failing to implement adequate controls, misrepresenting financial statements, and making poor business decisions that resulted in significant losses. The complaint was filed Tuesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
