Talen Energy Says It’s Found a Miner for Planned Bitcoin Site

Talen Energy Corp., the troubled power producer pivoting to cryptocurrency as part of a larger bet on renewable energy, said it has found a mining partner for its planned Bitcoin operations in Pennsylvania, according to a statement.

The Woodlands, Texas-based company entered into a joint venture with TeraWulf Inc. to develop up to 300 megawatts of Bitcoin mining capacity, Talen said in the statement Tuesday.

The first phase of the project will be a 180-megawatt facility built next to Talen’s Susquehanna nuclear power plant in Berwick, Pennsylvania, and is expected to be operational in the middle of 2022. ...
