A former employee of bankrupt Sunnova Energy International Inc. filed a lawsuit accusing the solar energy company of unlawfully laying off hundreds of workers without proper notice.
Erik Weatherwax, the named plaintiff in the case, filed a complaint in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas on behalf of himself and a proposed class. He alleged that Sunnova terminated him and over 700 other employees without providing the required 60-day advance notice, violating the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
