Steward Health Trustee Sues Insurers Over Rejected Medical Claims

A trustee for the fallen Steward Health Care System LLC sued a group of insurers and health-care plan entities to recover at least $57 million it says it’s owed for underpaid or rejected health care provided to patients.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc. and several other entities should be ordered to turn over reimbursements that were wrongfully denied to hospitals, trustee Mark Kronfeld said in several complaints filed Tuesday and Wednesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
