Steward Health Care System LLC filed more than 100 lawsuits seeking to recover tens of millions of dollars from transactions it made before its bankruptcy.
The private health-care network initiated the suits Friday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, saying the pre-bankruptcy payments should be voided because the company was insolvent at the time of each transaction.
The suits targeted more than $30 million combined as of late Friday afternoon, as new suits were still being filed.
