Steward Health Care to Sell Texas Hospital to CHRISTUS Health

Bankrupt Steward Health Care said Tuesday that it had entered into an accord to sell one of its Texas hospitals to not-for-profit CHRISTUS Health, subject to better offers.

  • CHRISTUS Health has agreed to purchase Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, privately-owned Steward said in a statement
    • The offer is in the form of a stalking horse bid, meaning the hospital could head to auction if a better offer materializes by a Sept. 9 deadline
  • CHRISTUS Health has agreed to pay as much as $4.5 million, which is subject to post-closing adjustment, according to court documents
