Steward Called Out in $55 Million Florida Hospital Fund Dispute

Steward Health Care System LLC is wrongfully trying to collect $55 million in Florida agency funds owed to hospitals the company used to own, Healthcare Systems of America said.

HSA, which last year purchased eight hospitals from Steward’s bankrupt estate, on Thursday urged the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to judicially block Steward from laying claim to the cash being distributed by the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration for hospitals that provide Medicaid patient services.
