Spirit Airlines Wins Court Approval to Market LaGuardia Slots

Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc. won bankruptcy court approval to start the process of selling key takeoff and landing slots at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

The fallen airline was authorized to quickly sell the LaGuardia slots, its Florida corporate campus, and “Free Spirit” loyalty program on Wednesday by Judge Sean H. Lane of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The judge also signed off on a plan to potentially pay Spirit’s CEO, general counsel, and special projects vice president more than $1.9 million in bonuses.
