Sonder Hit With Second Class Suit Over Abrupt Employee Layoffs

A former employee of Sonder Holdings Inc. filed a proposed class action against the shuttered hospitality firm, marking the second complaint accusing the company of failing to provide sufficient notice to workers ahead of mass layoffs last year.

The apartment rental and boutique hotel company violated the federal and New York State Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act when it abruptly closed down in November, former New York City-based hospitality agent Shalane Hosein said in a class complaint filed Tuesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
