SmileDirectClub Founders Move to End Bankruptcy Trustee Lawsuit

Shuttered dental alignment brand SmileDirectClub Inc.'s founders and top executives urged a court to throw out a bankruptcy trustee’s lawsuit, saying many of the claims are time-barred or fail on substance.

“Rather than plead facts suggesting that each (or any) particular officer or director violated any particular duty, the amended complaint offers a mishmash of nonspecific allegations,” the executives said Monday in a motion to dismiss SmileDirectClub liquidating trustee Allison Byman’s claims against them.
