Shuttered New York College Finds Buyer for Upstate Campus Sale

Cazenovia College, a school that closed in 2023, reached an agreement to sell its campus to a New York company, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday by the trustee, UMB Bank.

  • Matta Fresca LLC, an entity that registered in New York this year, has agreed to buy the campus for $9.5 million, according to the filing
  • The sale must be approved by the state attorney general
  • Cazenovia has about $25 million of muni debt outstanding, according to data compiled by Bloomberg
