Shuttered College in Albany Files for Bankruptcy Protection

The now-shuttered College of Saint Rose in New York filed for bankruptcy protection on Thursday, marking the latest college to do so as schools struggle with enrollment declines.

The Albany, New York-based college, which ceased academic instruction in June, filed a petition under Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York. It listed assets between $1 million and $10 million and liabilities between $50 million and $100 million.
