The leadership of the Senate Banking Committee announced April 29 that it will spend more time crafting its legislative proposal to overhaul the mortgage finance system before moving to a committee vote.
Committee Chairman Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) said the planned April 29 markup of housing finance legislation will be delayed for a short time as the bill’s backers attempt to bring additional committee members on board.
“While we have the votes to report the bill out today, members of the committee have asked for a brief delay to try to work out additional issues prior to a final vote.”
