Sears Seeks Millions in Lost Revenue Pay from Mall of America

Sears Holdings Corp.'s bankruptcy trust and the current owner of the historic retail chain are seeking up to $63 million from the Mall of America for losses sustained as the parties litigated for control of a three-story former Sears location.

The Chapter 11 liquidating trust and Transform Holdco LLC—founded by former Sears CEO Eddie Lampert to purchase the iconic brand out of bankruptcy in 2019—said they’ve missed out on at least $26 million while Mall of America has pursued an appeal over the department store lease for the last year.
