Santander Brasil Doesn’t See a Credit Crisis in Brazil: CEO

Bankruptcy cases and higher delinquency rates among corporations in the country are the result of a deteriorating macro scenario, but can’t be called a credit crisis, Banco Santander Brasil SA Chief Executive Officer Mario Leão said at a press conference Wednesday.

  • The bank is closely looking into bankruptcy cases, Leão said, without disclosing names or Santander’s exposure to companies such as Ambipar
    • “We are closely monitoring all the cases, we have more or less exposure depending on the name,” he said
