Rue21 Hires Alvarez and Akin To Navigate Potential Restructuring

Teen clothing chain Rue21 Inc. is working with Alvarez & Marsal, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, and Ducera Partners to assess its debt restructuring options, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

The company received a proposal from lenders earlier this week, which will likely help it avert a second bankruptcy filing, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private.
