Rite Aid Hit With Proposed Class Action Over Corporate Layoffs

Rite Aid workers who were laid off said in a new would-be class action that the company violated federal law by failing to give them adequate notice ahead of its bankruptcy.

Former New Rite Aid LLC employee Martin C. Gordon II said in the complaint that he’s seeking to represent a class of at least 300 other former employees who were terminated in violation of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The suit was filed Friday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
